http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-527630
Members of Thailand's anti- government "Red-shirts" group on Friday morning started to gather at Khok Woa intersection on Bangkok's Ratchadamneon Avenue.
They will hold activities in remembrance of the passing of eight months since their rally against the government at Phan Fa Bridge and to mark the 78th year of the constitution.
The rally organisers are calling for the government to release leaders of the United front for Democracy against Dictatorship ( UDD) and other red-shirts being detained in various prisons on charges of terrorism and of violating the emergency decree.
Four companies of police were deployed in areas near the intersection to maintain peace and order. There was no problem of traffic congestion in the area as Friday is the Constitution Day, a public holiday, according to Bangkok Police Deputy Commissioner Pol Maj Gen Kririn Inkaew.
Kririn Inkaew said police expected that about 9,000 people would take part in the rally in the evening.
Police expected that the protesters would disperse peacefully without any untoward incident.
